The collection has been assembled over several years in connection with various theatre clubs and dramatic societies, including a cathedral-based one – hence the large numbers of biblical/medieval costumes. These would be ideal for productions of the Mystery Plays or other religious drama.
For women, there is an attractive assortment of 20thC dresses and hats, particularly from the 1920s – 1940s. These are mostly genuine articles and require careful handling.
